Saw this in my local store, opened the box, look solid. Only down side is the hose size 1-/1/4 but the connectors are actually 2.5. It is very portable and if the HP spec are good representation of suction value - it's got more than what you usually find (2.5HP) in compact shop vacs.

It's definitely the best deal compact choice I've seen. Item # is 710044, $29.99 regular - $5 off expires 12/17/17

On a side note, as a public announcement, I noticed yesterday that Costco no longer charges me sales tax on the pre-discounted price. I asked them at the service desk and they said they've just changed that in the end of October.

May be I should down vote my own thread, lol. This amazon review is concerning:

Beware! I bought this at Costco. It looked impressive and was remarkably inexpensive and seems to work well BUT:
It uses both a reusable filter and/or a disposable bag. Both are very hard to find (I found only one source and even then it took a good deal of research to determine I had the right items) and they are ridiculously expensive. I paid $39.99 for the vacuum and then I had to pay $30.98 for 3 disposable bags and 1 reusable filter (the reusable filter doesn't look as if it will last very long.) The items are expensive and the shipping/handling costs are outlandish. The initial cost was modest but ongoing costs will be nonsensically high. I wish I had paid a bit more for a Sears Shop Vac and the sturdy filter system it uses.

I've had one for about 6 months. I think it works great. It's light, very portable, strong for it's size. I have not replaced the filter or looked for one. FWIW, I have no regrets. If I didn't have many multiple large and small vacs, I would buy another. And with Costco's return policy, how could you go wrong?
