GameStop has the recoil starter set for almost half price. The best price I found at walmart before was $89.

The link to the RECOIL Starter Set:

The individual RECOIL RK-45 Spitfire Pistols are also for a good price at $19.99.

I bought this game a few days ago. My friend and I loved it. The setup wasn't too bad either. It took around 15 minutes and worked in the first try. The set with 2 pistols does require 12 AA batteries. The range on the router isn't bad from what we saw but I've heard people say it's not super great either. We played indoors and outside his apartment when the router was inside and it still worked.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Hey topflight, hang in there. I'm sure you and your nephew will connect on other fun things. Try top golf or maybe build a lego set. As an uncle myself I understand where you are coming from. Frown

Just kidding. Couldn't resist. Thanks for the heads up on the device connection issues.

So how does this set stack up for the, ummm, grown folks?

These require a smartphone to operate, right?

Just keep that in mind if you're buying these for kids, each player needs their own smartphone. I know we live in a world where they're near ubiquitous, but maybe not all nine year olds out there have Galaxies or iPhones and maybe not all parents want to have their extremely expensive phone hovering about dirt and asphalt in the hands of said nine year old.

The kid in you will definitely enjoy it. If you can find at least 1 or 2 others who would join you, I'd recommend it. I was worried about it too but after playing it I can say it's worth it for adults too.
