68.75 cents per piece - pretty good for Magformers name brand tiles!

Good price per piece. It's a great starting set for a younger toddler and easier to hold because of the cutout shape. The next step up would be Magna-tiles. Thanks OP!

I recently got the Picasso magnetic tiles and was severely disappointed w/ them. Magnets were weak, and if you tried to build a vertical structure needed to be super careful bc of the weak magnets and instability. Are these any better?

These or Magna-Tiles for an 8 year old? Seems these have higher starting age.

You get what you paid for. The magnetics of Magformers is very strong - you can even hold the top piece of a three stories and take it away. Of course, coins have two sides- it's expensive.

Yeah, this is the usual sale price that's definitely a good deal. If you can get lower then it's as steal as it rarely gets lower than 68 cents per piece in my experience.

They also inflate their piece count. That 254 piece set includes only 164 of the actual magnetic tiles.

I lucked out last year and got the 100 piece Landmark Set for $38.36 from Amazon during a lightning deal. Then got the 46-piece Carnival for $42.22 set plus Lego Wall-E set for $59.99 and used Target's $10 off $50, $25 off $100, and Redcard to drop the title price to $74.08 plus tax. Pretty sweet considering discounts very rarely pop up that work with Legos. Wish some deals like that would come around again soon!
