Update on this- the titanium gray color is still on sale for $29 shipped, but the other colors are $149 again.

Uh, update to my update: I just looked again, and they're all back down to $29, and they all have free shipping.

Looking forward to these myself. Loved the tuning of the M200, but their design made them impossible to wear and/or recommend.

Grabbed a pair of the grey ones. Reading over the headfi threads they do draw a good amount of power though, so be wary of that.

Price is really good...reviews not so much. A little disappointing since I love my kefq100s that I've been using for a couple years now. The price is so low though that I might just bite

Ugh, apparently the volume controls do not work with Android phones. That's the one feature I wanted. =/

as per reviews it has weak sound. You guys think xiaomi is better than this ? any other recommendation in $50 range?

nevermind: I think I will try these $40 or $69 ones

It's meant to be used with an amp.

Indeed. Considering their relatively high(er) impedance and low(er) sensitivity, an amp or decent digital audio player should help. Won't get into sources, as that info is readily available on Head-Fi [head-fi.org].

Here is a review from HiFi:M100 - the initial bass is present and clear, slightly subdued for my tastes but probably plenty powerful for most people. Vocals sound very clear and detailed and ever so slightly warm and are neither recessed or to forward. Zero sibilance is in the vocals affecting the urgency negatively just a bit. Plenty of detail in treble area, drum kits have plenty of shimmer and detail while not being to strong. There is a period from 1:30 to 2:30 where there is is a lot of ambient sounds in the song with great imaging that are handled very well by the M100. The over all sound stage and imaging is large and impressive. The M100 really handle this song with aplomb.

Not a bad deal for a very good pair & this review was based on the $150 price.

Just bought an LG V30. Maybe I should treat myself to some better headphones to go with the super duper HiFi DAC thing.Smilie

As far as I've seen, some people who have reviewed them wrote that they don't have big, dominant bass. I'm fine with that. As for needing a lot of power, I have the Fiio EX1 II earphones, which have the same impedance (16 ohms) and about the same sensitivity (98 db) as the M100, which is listed at 97 db sensitivity. I listen to them through a Sansa Clip Zip and a USB dongle-sized SMSL Idea dac/amp, and they both can get the Fiio louder than I want to hear with no distortion that I can hear.

Some other well-reviewed earphones I've run across while reading Head-Fi and a few other sites are the Brainwavz B100 and B150 at $34.50 and $49.50 respectively, shipped. That's before a 10% discount code that's listed at the bottom of the pages on the Brainwavz [brainwavzaudio.com] site.

The Final Audio Design E2000 ($44.90), E3000 ($54.90), and Zero Audio Carbo Tenore ($41.73) are available from Amazon. Both the original and newer versions of the Fiio EX1 are just under $60 from Amazon, Adorama, etc.
