First deal post fore me....ha 10 people have probably beaten me to it. Funny thing is I just got the $79 (after tax) Paperwhite deal at Target.com this past Monday...hummm do I return it or do this trade-in?

See fine print below. They way I read and interpret it is once they receive you old Kindle and it passes inspection you will receive a promo amazon credit of $50 and then an amazon.com e-GC (presumably worth $25). So it would be a total of $75. I just don't know if the $50 and/or $25 can be spent other ways other than buying a Paperwhite Kindle.

*For a limited time, get up to $75 off Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi – with Special Offers in the form of a $50 promotional credit plus Amazon.com Gift Card with eligible trade-in. Or get a $20 promotional credit and Amazon.com Gift Card towards Kindle, Kindle Voyage, Kindle Oasis, or the Kindle for Kids bundle. The promotional credits will be applied at checkout and cannot be combined with any other offer. Follow the steps below to begin your trade in.

I don't see why not, it just has to be a model from there accepted models page (linked above) and pass their inspection (probably has to at least turn on and not have a broken screen etc.

Maybe I'm confused. But it looks like the $75 is only for the Kindle Paperwhite..if ordering the other ones..you only get an extra $20 bonus.

Definitely $75 only for the Paperwhite which is why I mentioned that in the title. As for other models, looks like a confirmed $20 promo credit and additional e-GC, question is how much are the e-GCs and do you get it before purchasing the Kindle. Sounding like someone with experience with this trade-in program is needed to chime-in here. Or at very least I should get on with amazon.com chat and get this all clarified.

If it's not listed there, then I would assume no: https://www.amazon.com/b?node=108...rKu8v3c7v3

There's the catch! LOL, I guess I should have tried the process before posting. So in reality the promotional credit varies on the model you return so in my case I'm finding out my 3rd gen Graphite Keyboard is only worth $5-10 and as such the trade-in value will still be higher than what I paid at Target.com...ho hummm.

I'm not sure there is enough details for me to try this, especially with the terms "up to".

My sixth generation paperwhite is valued at 35, so I'm assuming 75 is the max available, including trade in value?

two issues with this:

1--Amazon does not take kindly to people reselling and trading their own items
2--their trade in company is crap, and will degrade your items, by the time you realize, your return period will be closed

I agree. I tried to trade in a brand new camera which was never out of the house and it was returned to me with the reason being "light scratches". Total lie. I am sure if I had selected the "grade" option it would be accepted at a lower price.
