Do online orders still count towards Premier status ($1,000 in purchases)? None of my online purchases in November seem to be reflected in progress towards status. I am trying to sort out whether this is due to program changes or just unreliable Staples tracking, requiring followup.

I stand corrected. I was thinking of the 5% back.

Online purchases no longer count.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but online orders do count for Premier Status unless you purchased gift cards. We no longer get 2% or 5% staples rewards for online orders, unless you signup for a Staples More Account (this is a Staples credit card. We still get staples rewards for instore purchases.

Perhaps either you didn't use your staples rewards number on the purchase or the Staples dashboard hasn't updated. On my dashboard it says that it has updated as of November 28th. Although I think that if I had purchased something on November 28th and it said it updated on November 28th it still would not have updated within that time frame. (I know this part probably doesn't make sense, but in essence I think the dashboard would have to say updated as of November 29th to get credit for a November 28th purchase. I could be wrong though.

That is my understanding as well. Per the terms:
5. Upgrade

A Member is automatically upgraded to Premier status when the Member's account reflects $1,000+ of eligible spending during the prior 12 months. Member spending qualifying for upgrade includes all products and services at each or any combination of Staples US stores, by phone at 1-800-333-3330 and/or online at www.staples.com other than postage stamps, prepaid phone cards, gift cards, purchases made on third party websites, taxes, shipping fees, and any other categories which Staples has excluded. Qualifying spend for upgrade is the amount paid at checkout after application of all coupons, discounts, instant savings, and Rewards redemptions.

Ha, yeah I probably should've been more specific. I still don't like that they took away earning staples rewards on online orders, the exception is if you have the Staples More Account.

The dashboard is hit and miss especially around the end of the month. I have purchases from last week in store and this past weekend online that are not yet showing. They will eventually show up but just another fun aspect of dealing with Staples. Although I guess now that no rewards are earned at all for Rewards Plus it probably doesn't matter any more.

At least you can still get Staple rewards for ink recycling with Staples Plus (at least that is what I have read).

This is true. Although no $ threshold to reach.
