These are still nice figures for kids, but be aware that the playsets won't actually work - you have to download the code and the server is no longer up. We didn't get around to activating all our stuff before they shut it down and got caught by that.

I've played all of the Disney Infinity Star Wars Playsets on my PS4 with my boys. Here's the deal:

The game has some wonky controls (hard to jump to locations sometimes and such), and the online Toy Box stuff is done with (you can make your own levels for local enjoyment, but we never used that functionality), but the main Star Wars Play Set (Twilight of the Republic) and the two SW expansion Play Sets (The Force Awakens and Rise Against the Empire) are really great and work just fine. I highly recommend them.

I recommend getting your hands on all of the super-cheap SW characters that you can. There are 19 total; two come with each play set. I got them all last year during the buy 1 get 3 free sale). There are collectibles in each Play Set that allow you to use all of the SW characters in all of the SW levels. You can't use non-SW figures in SW Playsets (at least non-Toy Box levels).

You won't be able to use the SW characters in any of the other Playsets, but you can use them in Toy Box Takeover Playset, which doesn't come with any characters but does have some SW content. Same with the Toy Box Speedway Playset, which is a Mario Kart implementation.

At this price, it's really a must-buy.

Playsets still work offline. Online community content, online multiplayer, and custom toy box servers are dead. Go here for additional comments and also a still living community on the topic.

For some people, online play and custom toy boxes were the only reason to play this game. I agree that was the major reason for replay value after you did most things and didn't have new content.

Jut bought a Xbox for kids for Christmas

How do these work? Buy one starter kit and others just add on? I'm assuming the game comes with starter kit?

These starter sets come with a base right?
If I buy one, I don't need anything else correct?

Must be why they seem to be clearing these out. Still cheap enough for the kids to mess around with.

Yes the starter kit gives you the base and game you need. You can use 2 characters at a time.

Huh? Why are they selling a game that no longer works?
