Assuming you're referring to the GLM 10... I don't own the Bosch (have a Dewalt), but the main difference I see in the specs is that the Kobalt is rated at 50' while the Bosch is 35'. Also the Kobalt has two measuring points - either top or bottom while I believe the Bosch only measures from the bottom.

Since this is Kobalt, if you have any issues while in the 2-year warranty window, I imagine you can just walk in to Lowes and they will take care of you.

I don't have the Bosch. But I just bought this Kobalt during BF deals. This thing is about half a centimeter off (less than actual). Sometimes if you measure in inches, it's half an inch off for just a 12 inch measurement. This sucks. I wish there's a calibration option to correct this but no. EEK!

Idk, maybe try selecting a different store? I just checked a few and all were $19.98. Once you have it in your cart you can get free shipping if you're a My Lowes customer (free to sign up).

Your local store might be out of stock. Lowes site will default to the regular price when an item is OOS at your store.
This item has been this price since BF but the 'Sale' was supposed to end on 11/29/17.

I bought a Bosch GLM 40 from Amazon a few months back for ~$60.
Range is 135 feet and it is accurate to 1/16".
It also measures area/surface, volume and indirect (at an angle).

Only reasonably priced unit I could find that didn't return a worthless decimal feet measurement (ie 3.362 ft) for direct and memory readings is this unit and it is perfect. Returned a Bosch at 3x price. Thank me later.
