is running yet another multi-day promotion -- text them each day for a different discount code.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO:
Text the word: DEAL
to 727272 once each day to receive a text code back from them with a unique 1-time use code for varying amounts off a day's movie or game rental.
This promotion runs December 1 thru 10, 2017. All codes expire on 12/10/2017 @ 11:59pm local time.
NOTE: If you haven't previously signed up for their text program they will send a second Text with details about doing that.
The first code I got today (12/1) is for a FREE 1-night game rental. I just tried it on a BluRay title and it was not accepted, so this isn't like their recent 15th Birthday Bash 15¢ deals (where each code took a set amount off any type of disc).
If you get a code that you don't want to use and plan to offer it in this thread:
Please post just the value off
or what the code is good for, NOT
the code itself (e.g., 50¢ off, 75¢ off, $1 off 2 discs, free 1-night DVD rental, etc.).
Whenever people post a code to a thread like this, poachers will use it within minutes without posting a reply here.
A caution to people that don't do a lot of Redbox (beware of posted 1-time codes):
Don't try to use more than 1 or 2 codes that people posted here (or anywhere else) in the wild. If you try too many bad or already-used codes, Redbox will Temporarily Code Lock your account for 24 hours. There is nothing that can be done about it other than WAITING for at least 24 hours from the last time you tried a code. Redbox CS can't see it on your account and they can't do anything. Most of them won't even acknowledge that it has happened.
If you rent a game disc:
There have been many reports by people who received the Redbox plastic case containing just a piece of paper with a copy of the disc's bar code (substituted by the previous renter). So you might want to pull out your phone and film the entire process of getting your rental from the kiosk and opening the case immediately, so you can have proof that you weren't the one who stole the disc. Call RB's customer support 800 number immediately and they'll give you special instructions on how to return the case with bogus paper (flagging it so that it won't be rented out again) and give you a code for a free rental.
