BYOD to Verizon and get a $200 Prepaid Mastercard - This weekend only (new customers only)

Hey Everyone,

I have a feeling this post will get lost of hate because it seems most of the Verizon threads do, but I'm gonna share it anyways. Bring your own device to Verizon postpaid this weekend (port in your old number) and get a $200 Prepaid Mastercard.

vzw.com/switch [vzw.com]

From Verizon:

Quote :
How to get your Prepaid Mastercard®:
1.Visit vzw.com/switch and enter your purchase date and mobile number
2.Select "Bring your BYOD-eligible smartphone. Get $200."
3.Enter your information
4.Submit offer redemption within 30 days of port-in activation

Receive a $200 Mastercard Prepaid Card (consumer customers) or $200 bill credit (business customers) when you switch your number from any wireless carrier to a postpaid Verizon account and activate your own 4G smartphone on an eligible plan between 11.30.17 and 12.3.17. All required materials must be submitted within 30 days of activation, and your device must remain activated for 45 consecutive days. We reserve the right to charge back the amount of the Mastercard Prepaid Card or bill credit if service is canceled within 6 months. If you are a consumer customer, your $200 Mastercard Prepaid Card will be mailed via the U.S. Postal Service within 8 weeks after receipt of claim to the billing address on file with Verizon Wireless. This card is issued by SUNRISE BANKS N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Mastercard International Incorporated. Mastercard is a registered trademark of Mastercard International Incorporated. Cards will not have cash access and can be used everywhere Mastercard debit cards are accepted. If you are a business customer, your $200 bill credit may take up to 2 billing cycles to be applied.
It seems you need to keep the line open for 6 months or they can recall the giftcard (which will be issued after 45 days of service).

There are some better phone discounts out there but if you just bought a new smartphone and want to switch it's worth looking at.

You could definitely try that.

It does say they reserve the right to chargeback the giftcard amount. So if you cancelled before 6 months they could charge you the $200 you got in the giftcard (not very nice if you ask me but...)

I guess BYOD-Hotspot doesn't count in this offer?

And you still need to pay $35 activation fees?

Does new customer = new account? Or can I port in new lines to my unlimited plan?

Where does it say neee to be new customer? Also usually BOYD gets activation waived or you call in/chat and tell the CSR the Verizon store rep says it will be waived.

You need to port in a new number. I don't know if that means only new accounts, figured I'd err on the side of caution.

200 per device? Meaning 4 lines = $800? Or is it just $200 no matter how many lines
