I would stay away from off-brand helmets. You can get a proven helmet for not much more $ from an established company

Completely agree. This one could be good, but it could also be awful. Given that manufacturers self-test their helmets for DOT standards, I don't trust it. I need at least Snell or ECE certification to be comfortable with the helmet, since they're tested by third parties. For a hobby that costs so much time, money, and garage space, saving $60 simply isn't worth it.

If the helmet doesn't have ECE or Snell certification then do not purchase it! DOT means nothing when it comes to safety. You might as well wear a condom on your head. And honestly for the price it's a bad deal when the Speed and Strength SS12300 was $29.99 for an ECE tested helmet.

Look up youtube reviews on cheap helmets, and they'll not only show them getting destroyed, they'll show what they're made from and how little protection they offer. It's literally a tiny layer of plastic, block foam, and crap padding.

Decent rating and units sold mean nothing. Just because other people are making mistakes, doesn't mean you should follow suit. Check out Revzilla or MotorcycleCloseouts for a better helmet.
