Senniheiser IE8i IEM at this price is decent.
IE8i or IE80 is more of a personal preference.

Where are they getting these from? This model has been discontinued for many many years now like they were release in 2009 shortly after the original ie8 that didn't have the iphone cable, if you had one of these back during the warranty period they were replacing them with the ie80 which was the successor.... As good as this deal looks i'd be weary of overpaying for a knockoff

If this is still how Massdrop operates [businessinsider.com], it should be directly from Sennheiser; maybe a final clear-out?

Uh this is massdrop, they do special edition, collaborations and reissues with TONS of manufacturers. Are you seriously not familiar with massdrop?

Yeah this was reissued and manufactured again due to popularity and Massdrop exclusive partnership.

Massdrop is the bomb. The massdrop plus is considered one of the best cheaper iem's you can get.

Been waiting months for the IE80's to get discounted on Amazon (lowest was $179 last year, currently $199). It was a REALLY tough choice for me to pick these since I was so attached to getting the IE80s.

According to owners of both, there is a difference in sound, mainly in the fact that IE8s have a more stronger/enhanced bass vs the neutral sounding IE80s, other than that both should possess the same sound stage and separation akin to the open back HD598s (Which I have and adore).

It was a matter of $130 vs $200, Hope I made the right choice. (doh!)

How can you make such a blatantly fallacious statement? Wait, it's because this is Slickdeals.
You didn't bother addressing what model, you call something "shrill" that most definitely is not (making it fairly clear that you've never used them before), and you just generally failed miserably at answering the question. Is the Etymotic ER4SR suddenly a bad IEM because it doesn't have excessive, bloated bass that sounds like cheap subwoofers? No.

The correct answer is that it depends on what model you're asking about, and what you use it for.

Let me know how you like them after you receive it.

FALSE. I'd ignore this baseless blanket statement as utter nonsense.
