Definitely, DEFINITELY this one. I know rtings gave S405 a slightly higher rating as a "monitor", but they seriously need to re-adjust their scoring.

Here's the brightness on the TCL:
SDR Real Scene Peak Brightness: 161 cd/m2
HDR Real Scene Peak Brightness: 169 cd/m2

The Samsung is about ~320-330 brightness.

If rtings says so, then yeah. But the 160-170 brightness is a deal breaker on the TCL. I wouldn't even consider it, even if it was much cheaper.
