Not really, I'm using one right now.

I transferred 200GB of videos/pics on day one, no overheating issues whatsoever.
No, they definitely get scalding hot. I've owned three of these (a few different sizes) and I can't transfer files larger than 5+ gb because it disconnects from the computer due to the heat. I RMA'd my second one and the third one I received has the same issue.

Sorry to hear that. I been using it on my 2014 MBP with no problem.

It's YMMV I guess.

The thing uses the USB port like a heatsink, it's pretty wild. If you take it out and touch the actual metal it will be scalding hot. You're better off buying a micro sd card or just getting a normal-sized drive.

Edit: Be careful about this, it's likely not under the return policy so you'll have to talk to customer support to get a refund.

I also see overheating in mine. Writing speed drops to less than 5 MB/s after transferring more than 10GB. Replaced it with Samsung Fit and do not see this problem at all.

Even the most recent reviews mention this thing gets burning hot, so I'm going to assume even the "newest version" has the same issues as it's always had. Avoid.

I've used a dozen of these for work, in a few different computers. Every single one gets hot, even while idling. Perhaps Windows is doing some indexing thing but Macs don't?

Yes, he replaced his USB drive with a watch and not another USB Drive by the same name.
