Just a warning, the smell of this cleaner is truly awful and lingers for a long time. My washing machine is next to the kitchen and we had to deal with the strong chemical odor for about a week. Took about a dozen cycles before it began to dissipate. If your washer is in the basement might not be a huge problem, but I'd think twice about using this if your machine is in your living space.

You can do even better with S&S if you have 15% active.

I can never get these s&s coupons to apply. Very annoying, looks like a good deal if the coupon will apply...

Is this better than using regular bleach?

Interesting. I've used Affresh (supposed to do the same job) from a previous coupon/S&S deal, and there was no noticeable odor.

It does make a difference if you have odor issues with your washing machine.

Running a clean cycle with bleach always works fine for me. The bleach kills all the bacteria causing the odor and the hot water cycle washes everything away. Can't inagine why this product would be necessary.

I think it's for the over use of HE detergents, which tend to not wash off of the tub, which can then skunk up the machine.
