What are the thoughts on this TV? I picked up the LG uj6300. It's fine but I'm not blown away by it.

You're not going to be blown away by this Hisense either. It's middle of the road just like the LGuj6300.

I believe the 55 incher Hisense of this exact model was either 399 or 449 in the past, so this tv is not a great deal at 749 in my view.

I do think they should still offer the 4 year warranty. It sucks they no longer do that.

The only Hisense model I have my eye on is the h9d PLUS. If the price comes down to 500 or less for 55 incher of that model then I would buy it. Using Citi cc would add an additional 2 years to the warranty.

At least, unlike the UJ6300, it's not a fake "4K" set.

Probably better off with the TCL 55" performance wise

I've had this TV since last March. I'm still very happy with color and brightness levels. Daytime viewing is great and the 4K and whatever HDR it is capable of does enhance the picture. Having said that I did contact Hisense last week because my backlight bleed has been getting much worse and it's developed vertical bands on solid colors. I only notice these issues watching movies at night but they can be distracting. Daytime viewing is great. My iPhone does blow out the backlight bleed issue a little more than it looks in person.

I have noticed the same exact issues. What did they say, or do?

Well I contacted them via chat last week and they said to send the pictures of it at their service email address. I did that on Wednesday or Thursday and haven't hear anything back. Was going to call or chat with support tomorrow. I personally think this level of backlight bleeding is too excessive to be acceptable and I've heard they have great customer support so we'll see.

Yeah, at these price points some backlight bleed/flash lighting is acceptable, but yours does look pretty awful. It's funny how it's gotten brighter over time and not the opposite. Interested in how your experience with them goes if you decide to get it repaired.
