FYI, this won't fit in a standard 5 gallon bucket without trimming. It Is designed for the Chemical Guys buckets.

It won't even fit Chemical Guys buckets. I had them and this piece of junk got stuck at the bottom of the bucket. Stay away.

Who would buy this when the 2 bucket method to wash your car eliminates any need for nonsense like this...

When you swish around the water in the bucket the dirt will more than likely rise up through that

They want you to buy one for each bucket...

2 bucket FTW.. or the 5 wash mitt method.

Title says "filter" removes dirt and debris..... How do you get to the filtered water underneath it?

The idea with these is that the dirt falls below the trap and the clean water stays above

It doesn't eliminate the need. It compliments the 2 bucket method. When you go to wash off your mitt or whatever you're using in the dirty bucket you can easily churn it up enough and take some out with you. Grit guards also give you a surface to kind of "scrub" off the dirt as well.

Put a tie wrap in a loop around one of the holes. With it you can easily pull this out of a bucket.

When I got mine, a regular Grit Guard and a Cyclone, I was worried about fitment in regular Home Depot/Lowes buckets. Reviews on various sits had some users experiencing difficulties while some said it fit perfectly.

My recommendation would be to bring (all) your guards to the store and test them before selecting specific buckets (assuming you don't already have a bucket, or if you would like them to have better fitment). This is what I did and it worked out for me, maybe 1/2" off from the base of the bucket.. a tolerance I can live with.

Can't say I really like this design. A lot of the dirt is not going to make it into those holes and rather sit on top. You are then going to wipe the wash mit into that dirt.

I think a better design would be to also include cones facing upward that would help keep the wash mit above any dirt that does not go down the holes.

Still, it's a good price as I think these usually sell for about $10 (the better types).

Because those that know, know that the two bucket wash does not eliminate putting the wash mitt into dirt water. You use the clean/non soap bucket to wash the mitt off. With a good grit guard you rub the mitt on the guard to help remove dirt from the mitt.
