I don't think I've heard of any of these before.

Every game in the bundle has a 6/10 rating on Steam. I'd take a single polished, highly rated game over 5 meh ones.

Pretty great deal on some charming, but clunky, semi-classics.

How do you download this? Is there a third party program required for drm purposes? (Like steam or something or is it twitch?)

Agreed. Half the games I try with higher ratings I end up deleting almost immediately. There is too much quality stuff out there I have not had the time to check out. Why waste time struggling through meh?

I wouldn't call this a strategy bundle. It's much more of a squad-based stealth bundle. The Desperados and Robin Hood games are pretty solid entries in the genre too. Not quite as good as Commandos but close.

That said, if you're new to the genre, I highly recommend checking out Shadow Tactics instead. It's a much more polished and streamlined entry that still retains what made these games great 15+ years ago.

Want some great games? Either 'free to play' or watch the next sales.

- Stanley Parable - the best surrealistic narration game (try the demo free)
- World of Tanks (free to play)
- Spellweaver (Macig: the gathering type card game, free to play)
- Subnautica - explore a beautiful underwater alien world, build a submarine
- Peggle - if you haven't played it, fun 'casual' game

I'll vouch for Desperado and Desperado 2. They're like Commandos, if you ever played them. A good summary of the game, is imagine you're playing Command & Conquer or StarCraft, only you only have 2-5 characters (each really unique), and none of them can die. I doubt they're worth playing now though, as they probably haven't aged well, and likely don't work well on modern OSes or hardware, but they were good in their day. I'm playing Shadow Tactics, which is a modern spiritual successor, and it's great.
