Its a older model. Released few years back. But features are pretty good.

These small sensor/lower mp count cameras are great since less noise reduction software is needed vs cams that use 18-20mp. The 12mp is a sweet spot for small sensors and Panasonic has the FZ series nailed. What really works well is the constant 2.8 lens which gives one better performance, especially in lower light. This camera was released in 2015 and is right at the top of the small sensor/power zoom/budget heap. Yes, Sony and Panasonic have their 1" sensor cams, but they are twice (or more) the price with less reach.

Much as I like B&H, Adorama has the better deal on this one right now: $448 with $50 Adorama gift certificate. https://www.adorama.com/ipcdmcfz300.html
Been eyeing this model for an upcoming trip, you might also find it for $400 at some local camera stores. It was $400 for Black Friday near here & they still had that price as of a week ago. I'm having trouble justifying $400 (plus tax if local) for the sensor size, even with the great zoom & f2.8. The camera's not small, more SLR like, which with some of the deals on those right now has me holding back pulling the trigger.

We have an older FZ model similar to this. The zoom and image stabilization is unreal for sports. It's a fun camera that can go anywhere.
