- 4K/60 Hz full-rate pass-through, 4:4:4 color resolution, HDR, BT.2020 and Dolby Vision
- 7.2 channel AV Receiver with 50W per channel
- Slim profile, with 8 HDMI input (all 2.2) supports bluetooth as well.

I have a 1403, was looking to upgrade, this seems a good price point given last year's model 1607 is also going around the same price.

Looks like OneCall via Amazon still has the $599 price.

Damn you slickdeals! I've been waiting on this exact receiver and I just bought an xbox!

FYI, I have an older version of this, I only need to upgrade for 4k HDR/DV and Atmos. I tried a Yamaha Aventage and even though it's a good receiver I liked the sound of the Marantz better.

These are great receivers, I've had the older version for 11 years now and it's still working perfectly through 3 moves and never given me even a bit of trouble. It might seem expensive for the feature set but the killer feature is the small height so it will fit into low height space normal receivers.

I'm between this and either a Denon X2400H or X3400H. I have a small apartment 5.1 setup, so the size appeal of this nice, but having a more powerful receiver seems like the Denon's would be a better choice for the long term.

Do the Marantz actually sound that much better than the Denon X-Series?

Depending on your speakers, you probably won't hear a difference. If your speakers cost less than say a grand, you're not going to hear a difference.

But if you sometimes crank it and/or can get away with cranking it, I would get the receiver with more power.

Further FYI.... I had a Denon 3808CI since 2007 that was awesome. (Only hiccup was occasional HDMI HDCP issues -- screen went black for 3 seconds randomly.)

Just replaced it with X4300H about 2 months ago. My speakers are PSB Synchrony across the front and Definitive Technology bipolar side and rear surrounds.

The 4300 sounds great just like the 3808. But now I have 4K and ATMOS ability of course.

But I do feel that the 3808 had slightly more balls with playing loud, but the 4300 is loud enough. Overall, I am very very happy with the 4300.

I do have an ADCOM amp that I could integrate for the front channels, but finding the space for that beast is an issue (in this av cabinet that my wife had to have). May end up putting the amp in the ceiling of the basement immediately below.

i would get the denon x3400, unless you don't have the space

the marantz in this thread is their lower end models, if there is such a thing
