I don't know, found this question asked on the product page:Can this be used to measure the temperature if one has a body fever?
Answer: No, it is not an accurate theometer for measuring body temperature.

I don't believe it was the designer's intention to use Nubee for that purpose. It measures surface temperatures. Appropriate devises should be used to assess the medical status of patients. I would advise against pointing the infrared at someone for fear of accidental injury to their eyes.

No. The accuracy of this unit is +- 2%. So someone who is febrile could be miss read as afebrile.
These units are better suited for measuring tuna casserole where it received its FDA food industry approval.

The seller on ebay is simply one of those pathetic drop shippers. They don't have any inventory. They simply buy items from Amazon and have it shipped to your house. I doubt it even ships unless their software buys from Amazon instantly after you buy form them on Ebay.

No they are not accurate for that. You should look for decent temporal lobe thermometer. especially if you have children. This SD is best for construction, insulation, mechanics, checking dark cooking pan heat and heating baby food.

I've probably 100 AAA rechargeable and probably zero 9 volt rechargeable batteries.
HF used to sell the similar tool in 9 volt and has switched to AAA. Their tool is commonly on sale for $14.
I've two.
This would be a killer deal to me if they were AAA and I'd probably buy several more to scatter about my workshops.
But I'm not going to 9 volt batteries again.

edit: I waited too long to pull the trigger while I was researching another item to buy so I could add this add on item. Ended up finding this DMM [amazon.com] for what appears to be the lowest price ever based on CCC. I had the lower model on my wish list, but found this for less. Seems to be a decent meter with BT connectivity. Lower end model was reviewed my AvE here [youtube.com].

Well here's a new game sellers are pulling on Ebay, and I'm not sure how they do it. There are quite a number of these on Ebay in the $5-$6 range. When you go to buy them everything goes smoothly until after you go through Ebay and hit "Confirm and Pay". Then there is as small note at the top that the seller just made some changes, and the price is suddenly $23.00+. Sure, you have a chance not to proceed, but something is definitely wrong here. I tried it on 4 different ads and the same thing happened. Looks like Ebay needs to close this deceptive practice.

Edit: Apparently the prices are going back up and the sellers are now in the middle of changing prices. I did get all the way though and bought 3 from 2 "different sellers". I'll be watching the billing closely on these, though.

Edit again: Mistakenly gave sellers the benefit of the doubt. They do *not* have them to sell, they buy them when they get orders. They got caught in the middle of price increase and I got emails from the seller saying I can now pay more or cancel. Back to Ebay needing to close down these sellers. No stock is not my problem.
