This is really good price for the i7 version. Gonna have to reload it with Windows OS if you want it as a PC.

What graphics card equivalent do they have? Will it work for mixed reality vr?

Not sufficient for VR and not upgradeable graphics wise.

Gtx 860m is the roughly what it's like. This makes for a good HTC but don't expect to be blown away graphically

These have really bad problems - the whole thing will freeze up and die. Lots of people in the previous deal got screwed right out of the return period. avoid at any cost

my old laptop was i7 4th gen and 850m. I could play rocket league on low or maybe medium. It would play Blops3 on low, 70% resolution. This will a little better than that. I think I have seen old deal for half this price. I'm not sure its worth it since everything but the HD is legacy hardware.

Using a laptop with an i7-6700HQ with a 960m for mixed reality. Kind of slow and chopping and that's only in the portal, so I would not recommend this for VR stuff.

"Open Box" is different from "Open Box Refurb". This is a refurb.

mods should merge the other thread for it i3 model listed as well. Don't buy without extended warranty. These will break on you.

Stay away.
Not worth the hassle with YLOD.
(Ordered from previous deal)

But if you still want to buy, buy with Warranty.

You must have something set wrong. People have played mixed reality with a 860m and report that it's OK. There's video of it. Here's one review with a 960m. Dude says it's kosher.

I got an i5 going strong for over 2 years, bought it on eBay with extended warranty for $400. I don't game much on it but I've played dying light on it and it was at the least comparable to my PS4 copy at the time. I use mine as an htpc for the bedroom, probably going r2 when those drop and giving mine to my brother. For best results swap in an SSD and some more ram, big difference imo. Just remember it's limitations before you buy it, you can't upgrade the GPU, so you're stuck with that 860. I bought mine with htpc is mind, overall a very versatile little box and it has done well by me.
