Prime Pantry delivery $5.99. I think a while back, if you bought a certain number of items, shipping was free. Almost about the same deal here.

I wish there was a way to be notified when an item you like is added to this ongoing promotion.

I expect Amazon realized that calling it a $6 discount instead of free shipping would avoid the confusion of many people thinking that Prime Pantry would have free shipping like other Prime eligible items for Prime members, so as to emphasize the discount and not mention shipping costs at all.

Yeah previously was free Shipping if you bought 5 certain items, they've just changed the wording around, same promotion.

What do people actually use Prime Pantry for? My take is that if you can live with generic Kleenex or whatever, it doesn't make economic sense.

If people are using it just to avoid a trip to the Walmarts, then yeah, I see the value.

Lack of any other option, for me anyway...lots of items now aren't available any other way, so it's prime pantry or bust...

...and sometimes, it's impossible to fight the urge to get a 51 ounce bag of skittles at 3am.

Or a bag of bacon jerky.

I'd rather have items delivered to my door than a trip to Walmart any day. You get to a point in life where your time is more valuable.

I can randomly add things throughout my day to a list and have it delivered to my door. I usually buy only things I would at the grocery store, and with a coupon the prices are usually the same or a little better.

Agreed.

Even with a credit for shipping, it's hard to fill a whole box. If you can subscribe and save it, or buy it in bulk (either from Amazon or elsewhere), you'll probably pay less.

Basically, Pantry is for people who can't buy in large sizes and can't be bothered to shop around.
