The Silhouette Curio is on clearance, in-store only, for $119.99. Most of the stores in DFW show Out Of Stock, I tried one that showed limited stock and they were out, but finally found a location that said In Stock and they did have one.
The Curio allows you to cut, etch, emboss and draw on different materials. It comes with simplified CAD software that lets you create or import vector graphics and other images. This would compare to the Cameo 3 by Silhouette, and also the Cricut Air. The Curio is unique in that it has a high material clearance (5mm) and can also emboss and stipple materials. Tons of videos on YouTube about ideas as well as hacks. You can use it to write stuff on paper, but it looks real since a real pen or pencil or even a marker did the writing.
Since this one was so discounted, I went ahead and bought both the Curio and Cameo 3 (also currently on sale for $199...not clearance). For $320 you have 2 machines that can do just about anything when it comes to cutting or marking materials.
My official story is that this is for my wife, but I'm interested as well
