Decent deal, although my Proclear Torics are cheaper at Lens.com without a code.

I didn't know that Walgreens owned and shut down Vision Direct; I bought contacts at VD last December and even without a code they were about 35% cheaper than the current Walgreens price. I added an additional 25% code on top of that, so even with this 30% off deal, my contacts would be about 35% more expensive than they were at VD last December.

I need to re-up on contacts but my employer doesn't carry eye insurance. What's the best way to buy contacts? It looks like I need a prescription.

yup. walgreens bought drugstore.com a few years ago, which included vision direct. they kept both sites going for a little bit - then shut them both down.

i miss both sites - i was able to get really good deals when shopping sales from both of those sites. walgreens prices are higher for many things i got from drugstore.com and visiondirect.com

I ordered from VisionDirect for years. ☹️Got my last order in in December. We all wear the same kind, so I could compare to the next batch I bought I January from Walgreens. Walgreens price was similar to VD after promo codes and CB—until they added sales tax, which VD didn't.

I buy my daughter's contacts from Walgreens. Just be aware that sometimes it takes 10 or 11 days to receive them. You can't wait until the last minute.

Is this any cheaper than getting them at Costco?

I have no insurance either... Literally just pulled out of the parking lot of America's Best. 99 bucks for 3 years of unlimited contract and glasses exams. Also gets you 20% off new glasses and 10% contacts. If you have one near you, I highly recommend them.
