Nope, your still going to have to pay the hourly rate for them like you have been.

I feel American Professional is a bad marketing name for these. American Standard is a much more fitting name, as it is a Standard featured strat with specs closer to the original vintage strats but brought up to modern standards. On the other hand, the American Elite series is more deserving of the Professional nomenclature as it has features that only a gigging professional would seek out, such as noiseless pickups, S1 switching, locking tuners, etc. If you only play at home and don't gig I always advise against noiseless pickups since you're not playing under bright lights or poorly wired clubs, and you're more likely to get better chimey strat tones with true single coils. Both series are great either way, just depends which features are important to you.

Color is subjective but the price is still not that great considering elites will come close to this.

Last year, I believe around this time, they (last years name was deluxe not elite) dipped to $1050 at Adorama and I snagged one at $900 at a different online reseller

Shelf price for an American Standard is pretty universally $1300. This is a good deal. Tell me if I'm wrong

Not a bad deal, just not that great compared to other deals I've seen. If you like the color and were looking to buy a professional series then it's not a bad price.

Deluxe was on a closeout sale. Apples to oranges.

December, 2016 I paid $1149 for an American Elite Stratocaster from Adorama. That was a good deal and this is pretty good, too.

For reference, the best American Standard Strat price I have seen was $765 in 2015 (Musicians Friend selling Limited Edition Aztec Golds for 899 + 15% off). So this isn't a total steal, but very competitive price on a new model.

I've been waiting for a comparable Telecaster deal since then...

I'd be all over this bad boy if it was a tele. Although considering I picked up a new Squier CV thinline Tele for $150 a few days ago I'm willing to wait
