I got one of these a year ago for $32.80 after a 20% off coupon at jet and its fine. At the time, there was no tax at Jet and Im at 8% for Amazon.

But, I found a $20 one that Id buy if I could do it over again. Looks like its about the same for less money. I didnt know of it last year.

I used mine for a few months and it kept me from cussing out my neighbor. Since then, they stopped leaving their dog out for hours every night so I rarely use it.

Sometimes when my cat wont stop crying to get out while Im sleeping and not getting up. Maybe 4-6 times a month. Versus every day for 3 months when I first got it.

No. These do not sound fake. The problem with a fan is that it will inevitably develop an annoying whine or other problematic noise that defeats its purpose.

Repped! How does it compare to a Marpac unit?

Sorry, I was being lazy. This device has more customization options with regard to the white noise. In for one - thanks OP

Better than just getting a fan? I feel like this sound would come across as fake or something.

If it's a fan you like. Get a marpac, it's a fan in a box that doesn't actually blow air around your room.

I have a Vornado and its the best thing ever for sleeping. I was just debating if my mom would like this white noise machine but I'm going to pass. Was worth my time just for that terrible commercial though.

Totally agree. Been using one for 3 years. No moving parts & keeps my dogs from hearing anything outside and going crazy. Love this!

We use these in every bedroom. I just bought another for my 14 year old son because he had an air cleaner for noise but said he wished he had one like ours because he sleeps better with it. I like the fact that it's not stirring up dust or adding a cold breeze to the room during the winter months. I will never give up my Lectrofan! Wink

I bought the Marpac based on recommendations and it wasn't loud enough for me (because I live near a train station and wanted to drown out the train horns) so I replaced it with this one about a week ago and I think it's much better. One of the Lectrofan pictures on Amazon show a comparison to the Marpac unit. It has a volume control and different white noise sound options to choose from which the Marpac doesn't have.
