These are the last days a California resident can order ammo online. It all ends Dec 31st (and you have to RECEIVE it by then!) I heartily recommend www.AmmoSeek.com as a great way to find/ and buy your ammo while you still can!

Is it illegal to buy ammo online or just AG go threaten the online store not to sell to CA? If it's the latter, MA has been like that since forever.

Vendors must have Department of Justice approval to sell ammo – Current retailers with an ammo supply may stop providing ammunition altogether due to the process of getting DOJ consent. For hunters and shooters in rural areas who rely on mom-and-pop sporting goods stores, they may need to seek out a new supplier as well as plan on driving a lot farther to find the ammunition of their choice.

Importing ammunition – Californians must go to an ammunition vendor that has been approved by the DOJ. If a resident orders ammunition from a website, the ammo in question must be sent to an approved vendor for the consumer to pick up. Purchasing ammunition out of state and then returning to California runs the risk of carrying a misdemeanor charge of transporting ammo across state lines.

Transferring ammunition – For anyone who has ammunition they are looking to part with, you will need to enlist a DOJ-approved vendor to complete the transaction, same way you would transfer a firearm to a new owner.

Wow.... they are going to tell you how to wipe your ass after you taking a dump really soon.

NY and CA are constantly in a battle to see who can be stupider in this regard.

CA needs to chill on its gun control. We don't live in a utopia and shit can hit the fan at any time. Guns are a necessary tool for when that does come. Seriously, if CA wants to ban guns, I'll gladly approve if it can solve all the other social problems FIRST like money in politics, wealth inequality (and homelessness), healthcare, etc.

California will never chill on gun control until these stupid legislators are out of office and it won't get any better any time soon. I don't see it getting any better.

Right; and I just placed my last ($320) order with www.Budsgunshop.com for 45/70 and 45ACP ammo today. At this point, I am set for about 15 years worth of ammo in my life... 3,600 rounds of 22LR,. 1.200 rounds of 9mm, 1,500 rounds of 223 plus plenty of 38, 357, 41 Magnum... 40S&W, and yes; even 6mm Remington and lots more.
As a Cal. resident, it is a "Fortress mentality" here in this god-danged Liberal Paradise. I'm 60 and I still can't leave because my Wife's parents... at NINETY, are still alive and doing well in Orange County. EEK!

I'm Arizona-bound just as soon as the gates open! Wink

Pshhh 3,600 rounds of .22 is a good weekend worth of shooting 🤣 sorry to hear about your situation. Every time I think I have it bad in New Jersey I think about California and it makes me feel like I'm really in Texas lol
