yes. typically most wooden train tracks model themselves to work with Thomas specs. we have a mixture of IKEA and Thomas "official" tracks.

These are made for the battery powered Thomas engines. They are different from the wooden trains. In my experience these are a PITA to put together not as intuitive as the wooden ones. My son was obsessed for a good 2 years and got much more enjoyment out of the wooden ones since you pretty much turn the track master train on and watch it go. Not a bad deal if you need more tracks though

Went to TRU over weekend and saw it for $34.99. I bought this during thanksgiving in Walmart for $19.99. Now I bought it in Amazon and have to return the Wally one.

No wonder TRU is out of business

Everything is always over priced at TRU. Hate that store!

My son has trackmaster train/tracks. At first, they are a complete pain to put together, but once you get used to it it's not that bad. A big selling point on these is if you want the train to be able to go up/down "hills". Can't really do that with the wooden tracks, unless you're helping it along obviously.

Railway Scrapyard Escape Playset [amazon.com] . in stock dec.11 but orderable. $15 less than other sellers, and only a few bucks more than just individual trains themselves
