You could, but you won't have an even cut area for your work. I'd strongly recommend a mitre saw stand for that:

and use this workbench for other support and assembly tasks.

Can you clarify by uneven cut? I'm a noob when it come to miter saw. Example you cut 2x4 or plywood in half.

Say you're using your mitre saw to cut your 4-foot 2x4 into two 2-foot lengths. With the mitre saw on the work table, the 2x4 will be sticking off both sides of the saw with no support, allowing them to fall and possibly create an uneven area at the end of your cut as they fall. You'd need to add sawhorses under each end of the 2x4 (or engage any spare kids you have laying around) to support the entire length of the board.

You wouldn't want to try to cut sheet plywood with a mitre as even a sliding mitre saw may not accommodate the entire width of the plywood. You could use a table saw and slide the plywood, or better yet is rest it on this workbench and / or another workbench or sawhorse as needed to support the entire piece and use a handheld rotary saw for straight cuts and a jigsaw where you need curves.
