OLED65B7A - $2,149
[ebay.com]
(OLED 65C7P - $2,249)

$100 more than Black Friday, but not too shabby if I can use PP. Was shopping for B7A but for just 100 more I ordered the C7P (already a FP Deal).

Not sure why. One has nothing whatsoever to do with the other.

Because a lot of price protection comments I see say authorized dealers only. That's the entire reason I asked.

Where are you seeing these "lot" of comments about that? I've seen it once, ever, that I can recall, and that was like 1 day ago in this thread and already corrected-

You know that there are other websites out there than SlickDeals right? PP is a very common topic for discussion. Even on SlickDeals.

This is also Ebay, not GreenToe. So it's completely different. I called and chatted with Discover as well, and got two different answers from two different people. So here I am, asking for other people's experience with PP and buying from Ebay and Discover. If you can't understand the reasoning for my comment, then ask, don't just assume it's not relevant or important to the post.

Your first response didn't even make any sense anyway... not sure why I'm even continuing this conversation. You thought that authorized dealers and price protection had nothing to do with each other.

I mean- I read a lot of the OLED threads here and I've never seen that question, ever, going back years, until yesterday- so if you claim you see it all the time, it's not here.

But it should be easy for you to link to where I can see these numerous supposed questions about authorized or not mattering to price protection right? Confused

Which also makes no difference to anything.

Which is why you shouldn't ever bother calling.

Level 1 phone reps have no idea WTF they're talking about.

Just read the actual terms of the card benefit.

They don't care if the dealer is authorized or not.

Why would they?

It makes perfect sense.

Because they do not have anything to do with each other.

That's why it's odd you claim there's "lots" of threads discussing those two things as related- since they aren't. At all.

I don't know too much about Discover, I have this from one of the wiki community forums that you can use when you do decide to start a claim and need another website to compare pricing to:

Discover: eBuyUSA.com approved, TVsuperstores.com denied (because a free wall mount with the TV) one guy say he was approved after he send in a screenshot without the free wall mount showing so YMMV.

I remember reading another post where an ebay purchase was accepted for a claim under citi, because when they paid for the TV on ebay they paid using paypal. So they used the paypal invoice/statement as their receipt.

Sorry I realized I didn't address the authorized dealer issue, Citi/chase do not require the purchase to be from an authorized dealer. If I had to bet, discover does not have that requirement either. If you read the terms and conditions of your card you should be able to find if that is stated. If its not in the TCs then you are good.

The only time I have seen the requirement for an authorized dealer, is when you purchase warranty.

Yea, my issue was that I was specifically told from Discover they don't allow Ebay, anyway you use the site. I'll try to contact them directly.

Thanks for both comments. The other guy was incredibly annoying. It seems like you also have seen the same PP issues popup and discussed. Since they are quite common... Anyway, I'll talk to the company and see what they provide in terms of receipt. And report back if they can provide something from a base store.

Well, had you taken that guys advice and looked at the other threads instead of throwing a temper tantrum, you would see that he was absolutely right and the authorized dealers mean nothing for price protection or LG warranties. The internet is already filled with the worst of people, don't make it worse.

They don't allow using Ebay as the "lower price" because you could make up your own listing

They absolutely allow it as the higher price (original purchase) so long as it's listed as a buy it now new item and not an auction

Cosmetically? A different stand/bezel.

Functionally? Slightly better internal speakers that make an attempt to play ATMOS (not that anybody who cares about ATMOS would use built in TV speakers) and...that's it actually. 100% identical display panel/picture.
