There is some serious misinformation in the thread.

The deal on Classic Firearms is for ALL models of S&W M&P 9mm (per what the OP states). Note, the M&P 2.0 is NOT $349.

The M&P 9mm has a full size, a compact, and the Shield (sub-compact). Classic Firearms doesn't even include the Shield in this sale.

The full-size is 17+1. The Compact is 12+1. The Shield is 8+1 with the extended mag or 7+1 with standard mag.

For comparison, I have a Taurus PT-111 G2. It is a 12+1 capacity firearm. The Shield and the PT-111 are almost identical in size other than width (Shield is a single-stack, PT-111 is a double-stack). The S&W M&P Compact is a hair longer than the Shield but a micro-hair shorter.

Review of the Shield below:

I did get one of the Shield PC editions for $370 with the $100 gift card from Brownells. Holy F'ing Sheet! I took both of my PT-111s and the Shield to the range yesterday. WOW.... in fairness, I was shooting steel out of the PT-111 and brass out of the Shield.... the Shield is more accurate than the PT-111 IN MY HANDS. I'm speaking solely about how I did. It felt good in the hand, easy to shoot, and the fiber optic sights were awesome.

Be forewarned, the Brownell's gift certificate is not great, as most of the stuff on Brownell's is above market price, IMHO. I did list a good deal on brass ammo though. I'm still trying to tell myself I don't need TWO of these Shields. I don't. I'll take my 12+1 PT-111s over the 8+1 shield for a house or truck gun. For carrying, it's the Shield all day.

MY shield needs a little breaking in. I accidentally loaded the first mag with steel (wasn't paying attention) and had FTE, FTL, etc. The slide didn't return fully into battery a couple of times. The trigger is a bit gritty; a known issue with Shields, but I had truly hoped the PC sear would have made the trigger better. Still completely functional trigger. After a mag or two, the Shield performed flawlessly. The mags are a pain to load. I have an old Ruger mag loader that works fine on the Taurus mags, but not well on the Shield.

FYI these were $100 less yesterday at Palmetto State Armory, no rebate though.

Palmetto State Armory had a security breach of their user database. Would not trust them unless you want your credit card info stolen.

I find it amusing every time a past breach is used as a reason not to shop somewhere. One would think they have since had to up their game and get better security, otherwise they'd have NO customer base.

Not that I've bothered to look further into it, because it feels like just about everywhere has had some sort of breach or another.....

But still, I'd almost rather shop somewhere that has already had a breach, than somewhere that's just waiting for their turn o.0

That, and no one wants my credit anyway Big Grin

This deal is classic firearms. The linked deal is Brownells. What does PSA have to do with anything?

If that's your sole criteria, here's a list for you of other places not to use: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis...a_breaches

But back on the original topic, between S&W having to drop prices due to a drop in demand and their overproduction, and the release of the 2.0 model of the M&P line, there is/will be lots of opportunities at this price. Lucky for us, not so great for S&W's profits and stock price.
