for a little more you can get a 1080.
Mind sharing the link? I'm borderline between 1070 and 1080 if price is close enough might jump on 1080

You can get a 1070ti and 1080 for almost the same price on Newegg atm.

I do agree 1080 is better than 1070, but the price jump is $100 more. If it's within 25-50 I might make it. But beyond that is kinda hard to justify. But do you have any explanations on why 1080 is worth much more than 1070 at this point?

It's lots faster and has more of its hardware enabled. But it depends on what resolution you play at. If it's 2560x1440 or LOWER, you're fine w/ the 1070 IMO.

Cuda cores, better memory GDDR5X => 25% better

I bought 1070 for 350 each when they came out.. due to mining prices are high now. rather spend that extra 50 for a 1070ti=>20% better then 1070 closing the gap of the 1080 at 100$ less.

For gaming 1070 is over kill at 1080p it runs 1440 decent.

Big can of worms here....

But It may be better overall to splurge a bit more and get a 1070ti. The higher end 1070ti seemingly outperform or are capable of outperforming the lower end 1080s for roughly the same price or maybe even cheaper.

Im mining with a 970, 1070ti (just got two days ago for $550after tax), a 1080 and a 1080ti.

I know its gonna sound like apples and oranges...but

Game wise i think the 1070ti would be wayyy better than the 1070. Stock settings my 1080ti could push fallout 4 at decent fps @4k and maxed settings. Got kinda wonky with loads of mods but thats possibly just Bethesda.

This 1070ti OCed tonight and mines an algorithm at damn near the exact hashrates as my 1080ti with a similar OC (minus~10% performance). It was $200+ cheaper and its a beast.

These 1080 and 1070FEs aren't too bad overall though. My friends have a few for mining and the 1070 and 1080 FE models do better than the comparable low end gigabyte windforce or zotacs we have.

Ive got
970 is an evga sc/sc2 idr
1080 gigabyte windforce
1080ti evga sc black
1070ti evga ftw2
Mining? 🤔
