I have been using this router for the past 2 years. Bought it for $200+.

I was thinking It'd be a quality router, but I was wrong. Tons of issues with intermittent wifi connections always dropping, none of the administration stuff works properly, none of the bandwidth reporting works properly. Tried contacting Netgear, but CS always routes me to downloading new Firmware which also doesn't work. Look at reports of people running into tons of issue with this particular model.

I'd pass. Invest in Ubiquiti instead, or at least get the X4S. X4 is just outright bad.

You should open a store and have random, massive sales. I'm sure it will be a huge success.

Good deal but really wish the X4S or X6 went back on sale.

Can someone explain to me why oh why retailers only discount heavily on Black Friday??? All their so-called pre or post BF deals never come close. I mean, why are you all competing on the same exact day? Why not do it according to your own schedule and have the entire day to yourself??? It'd be like if every single blockbuster movie for the year released on the same day - wouldn't that be stupid?

I have the V2 of this router, and it's not bad. The range could be better.

At this point, I assume they are only selling the V2 models.

I too have had the v2 for almost two years and have had zero issues with it. Incredibly stable connection.

This router is very good for a 4-5 person household, great for handling a decent amount of usage.

There's an interesting time when JC Penney constantly sold their items for low prices, they never had sales and couldn't really afford to have sales their prices were so low. It almost put them out of business because people love the feeling that they are getting a good sale price. They essentially had most of the year to themselves, it did them no good.

The reason for black Friday is due to consumer count and opportunity being high. Many people are looking to shop so you try to real in as much as you can.

Actually you will find that the best deals are before BlackFriday but Black Friday will include a handful of loss leaders that get people to stores .. like a $200 4k tv at walmart.. well thats just great but every store only has 3 of them...

but two weeks before black friday you might find a very similar 4k tv for $250 which would still be $200 off the normal price..

This year intel released their new generation 8 CPUs the month before black friday and that was the best time to buy them and the Motherboards that went with them...

prior years you would find 5TB external hard drives going for $89 a couple weeks before black friday and then cost more on blackfriday..

I am telling you if you want the real sales they are from mid september and start growing until about 2 weeks before black friday.. and then you have a handful of insane deals that you will never get on blackfriday..

and they do those presales with the exception of the intel chips .. but the drives and tvs on discount .. they do them to load test their websites

Are you using the band steering option? I have the X6 and had tons of issues until i separated the channels to different SSIDs.

I miss those days of JCP but I knew they were doomed when everytime I was in there people kept complaining about the lack of sales. People are not very bright when it comes to this sort of thing. Most sales are fake. JCP cut that out and simply had the lowest prices. Now those fools got what they cried for. Shirts that are $15 or two for $20 instead of simply being $10 a shirt.
