Price point looks amazing but does anyone have first hand experience with these? The reviews are all over the place and I've read elsewhere that these have major heating/cooling issues.

About the same price, if not cheaper, at Best Buy. Just pick up a 128 GB SSD seperately. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=5712361

Can you help clarify if the one at bestbuy really have thunderbolt 3 port? The one at amazon states only Usb 3.1 Gen 2 which is only 10 gbps right?

Am I missing something here?

Amazon- No thunderbolt 3?
Bestbuy- cheaper, no ssd, have thunderbolt 3?

I believe it is diffent model? The reviewed unit has 120hz and thunderbolt 3? The one at amazon has only listed usb 3.1 gen 2.

If anyone can clear this up, that would be great. I am also not sure

It looks like Best Buys might be the 120 hz model as well (I can't tell). The Amazon one is 75hz, but they do make a 120 hz model. Just noticed the model numbers are slightly different between the two. The Best Buy one does have a Thunderbolt 3 port, but a reviewer here said it was the slow version http://forum.notebookreview.com/t...68/page-14

Hmm so 2pcie lanes right? Instead of 4 so egpu is still possible? Thanks!

However, is it really 120hz? I just searched q&a of bestbuy model and all said 75hz? This is so confusing asus with all diffent models haha

If bestbuy has slower thunderbolt 3 but more than usb 3.1 gen 2, and have 120hz, then there is really no point in getting the amazon model lol

I guess will never really know... but seems like bestbuy might be the better of the two. More chances of winning the lottery lol.

But kidding aside, thats really bad marketing. They are taking advantage of majority of reviews is the one with 120hz and thunderbolt 3 40gbps. But you might end up with 75hz and no thunderbolt 3...

Notebook check is a great site but I think they are based out of Germany so the models they get do have some slight variations that they usually mention in the bottom.

I guess but 75hz vs 120hz and usb 3.1 gen 2 vs thunderbolt 3 is a huge game changer for some people. I mean some are willing to spend a premium on those only to end up with not having them? Thats messed up imo :/

They review what they have. It's on you to do your diligence in checking the specs on a different model number than what was reviewed. Lots, most really, of the review is still super useful in these cases.

I agree with you. The reviews are okay. Pretty much all are similar except for some components. But you have to agree, they (asus not reviewers) really made sure it's hard to research on what your getting.
