Let me be the one this time around to point out BILL CREDITS for 24 months.

Even the OP bolded the following statement:

Quote :
1) 24 month contract is required.

I think everyone is still spoiled from last year's holiday deals that blew this year's away. Saving only $300 but locking self into a 24 month contract is not very slick. If they do BOGO or give inflated trade in credits it could get better.

It's a well written post, good job for your first one. Unfortunately, after last year's rocking deals on the moto z and the pixel, everyone is going to thumbs down a deal that involves bill credits, including myself. My last hope is this Sunday, Dec 10, best buy's door buster deal is "Samsung cell phones". If that deal also involves bill credits then I think we're done for this year without any great deals. Regardless, good first post.

Even through this summer when BB sold the S7 Edge for 7.99/mo while Samsung was running a $200 gift card for uploading your receipt to Samsung Pay. I think they sold the LG G6 at 4.99/mo too.

I think deals will still come. Just not when the shopping volume is peaking.

So I'm new to this game of having to pay for a phone (used to be on the old subsidized plans getting new phones for free every 2 years until just last week). Now we're on the 8GB shared plan for $40 cheaper a month.

Anyways, what exactly are the bill credits? Do you still have to pay the full monthly fee for the phone, then get reimbursed the promo bill credits later?

What kind of deals are the best deals for buying new phones now? I'm guessing you want to avoid paying the monthly and just buy it outright?

Bill credits mean that every month, as long as you don't pay off your phone completely, Verizon pays part of your payment for you. Say you get a galaxy s8 for 25 dollars a month, if there are bill credits, verizon will pay, let's say, $10 a month of that for you so you are only paying $15 a month. It's a way to get you into a contract without actually using the word contract. As soon as you pay off the phone, you lose any remaining bill credits. For people who try to flip phones bill credits obviously don't work but if you are going to be on verizon for the next two years and you don't mind keeping the same phone for the whole two years, it's not a bad way to go. But after last year's amazing two best buy deals this year has been an incredible let down. Apparently this sunday is the big best buy samsung phone sale so hopefully something good pops up that doesn't require bill credits.

Google Home shows out of stock, not sure how to add it along with the Pixel 2 to get it for 50% off.
