this is standard to slightly high pricing after coupon, for example:
here is one for $5.49 and no coupon needed
Shoelaces [amazon.com]
(it is a 24 pack, op's is an 18 pack)

I've added these to two pairs of my 7 year olds shoes because I got tired of replacing laces that he has walked on. These are a pain to put on, but he loves them, and I can't think of a reason not to get them at 5.49$ or 5.59$. I've used the Homar brand.

I can think of a reason: 7 year olds should know how to tie and retie shoelaces.
Knowing and doing are two different things.

Unfortunate choice of name.

Reminds me of when Nike named that women's shoe after some kind of mythical rapey creature.

Are these four people without fingers?
We have these is all our daughter's shoes that she wears to school. No worries about untied laces at school.

My 6 year old can tie her shoes, but her school is so fast paced and the want minimal distractions, that we chose these because it's one less distraction while she is learning.

"In ancient Greek religion, Nike (/ˈnaɪki/; Greek: Νίκη, "Victory", Ancient Greek: [nǐːkɛː]) was a goddess who personified victory. Her Roman equivalent was Victoria.....haha...Guess shoes always have to be related to gods.

there's a history of this price returning from time to time, i was also wondering about the other no-tie laces with the clip to hold the stretching laces
