Use both of the products listed. I suggest you learn a bit about what each one does before buying. If you run a rotary I suggest the Diamond Cut compound for removing medium to light scratches and 1200 grit scratches.

If you're running a D/A I recommend the m105. Doesn't cake, removes easily, and removes 1200 grit scratches.

For polish the m205 is great stuff. I use a rotary for this. Using a D/A takes a long time.

What I don't recommend:

Doing any of this by hand
Running a rotary buffer without knowledge of paint maintenance/material composition
Using the same pad from compound to polish
Using rotary compound on DA or vice versa.

Great deal! They also have Meguiar's M83 Mirror Glaze Dual Action Cleaner Polish - 32 oz. for only $8 - typically $20+.

Is this good for a heavy polish? Car is getting some swirl paint scratch patterns now.

New to DIY detailing at home. Can someone explain to me the difference between 105 and 205?

Edit: nvm. One's a compound, the other is polish. The item title mislead me to think they were both compound of some sort ha

The Meguiar's microfiber 3 pack of towels are add-on for $3.89 now too. Camel 3x shows that's lowest price ever

ALWAYS ALWAY ALWAYS Practice on a small corner of you car before applying all over your car, some polishes can lead to bad holograms on soft paints.

The 205 is a newer product using SMAT, while the 83 is classic diminishing abrasive. Both are pretty wet and don't dry easy and work well with light foam pads. They both finish about the same in my experience, although I find the 205 to dust more with my DA. I use the microfiber pads now and the microfiber compounds D300 and D301/D302 so I've got lots of 80/83 and 105/205 laying around. The answer really depends on your machine and desired use. The 105/205 combo is super popular and the products are sold everywhere while the others require online order or a paint store.
