good Travel Site for booking rooms

1,032 638 December 8, 2017 at 06:43 AM
Hi,

looking to book a room (or 2) for a family group of 4 adults and 2 kids from 31st Dec to 5th Jan 2017 in Miami or Ft Lauderdale (preferrable close to beach).

I have been looking at Kayak and booking.com and most hotels are costing me $1800 and up, is there any other site you would recommend?
Appreciate any feedback

It seems the post is relevant to me also. I am planning to visit UAE after 5-6 months for around 3 months but i don't know what kind of rooms i should book and how much they will charge me for 3 months. If anyone have any idea can share with me plus agent also can message me with the details. Thank You

thanks for your responses, i have always used homeaway and VRBO, but at the time of posting the accomodations costs were coming very high for a beach front place. Hence i posted.

During my research i found other sites i had never used before that may have additional listings like flipkey and tripadvisor (i know flipkey belongs to it, but directly on tripadvisor i noticed additional properties).

since i wanted beach front i used the map on each site and zoomed in and scrolled through the entire section.

Hotels.com and all other sites have this map feature (i did not know this).
I finally found a property on flipkey, then using that property name i looked the prices for my stay on various sites like hotel.com, priceline etc. even called the hotel directly. finally booked via hotels.com with the coupon code they had and was able to get a lower price than hotel.

@inertbrowed, homeaway / vrbo / flipkey and airbnb are great sits to look for long term accomodations, just plugin the dates and when you click on the property it will tell you the total price for the stay.

for a stay that long, i would personally prefer a home or a condo as it has a full kitchen and i can lower my eating costs by fixing something quick at the house.

for shorter stays i prefer hotels because of the housekeeping serivices etc..

I would recommend Priceline or Hotwire but there's a big however here... Most of the time you cannot bid or do an Express deal knowing how many beds you are getting. The number of beds are not guaranteed unless when you go to click the room it has a few options (this happens sometimes before you pay but I don't see it too frequently).
