I just broke an old Gerber. Was a cheap gift set model. I'll give this a shot.

Name to price ratio is strong. Plus yesterday was the anniversary of Dime's murder and he liked purple, so timing is on point too.

Guess should be noted, purple only, other colors seem to be normal price

I think all Gerber's have a lifetime warranty, so you can probably get it replaced for free (you still have to pay to ship it to them though)

Are these as well made as a Leatherman multitool? Also, are they good about honoring their lifetime warranty?

I started that process but I could find no information on this model except from a 2009 Woot! Sale. Not even on their product archive. It's basically identical to the current Bear Grylls Ultimate though, so we'll see.

Not even close. I had an original Leatherman for twenty years. My Gerber Suspension broke in a month.

The plier jaws misaligned. A year later the thumbstuds were corroded where it sat in my bag.

Gerber in general is beyond overrated.

I haven't bothered with the warranty because they would just give me another Gerber.

Ten bucks is cheap but a Leatherman Style or Micra outclass this.

Geh....I've always wanted to add one to my collection but have never pulled the trigger because of the so-so reviews...andI'm a big fan of my Leatherman Squirt though.

But for $10 I'll give it a shot, and if it doesn't do the job of an EDC at least I can use it for around the house for quick little jobs or keep it in the glove box of the car!

Lots of the reviews indicate poor metal and flaking paint. Not worth the $10 as you would probably spend $5+ shipping it back for warranty. Though Gerber had been good for their warranty the one time I used it (took a while to get back with no communication, I put tracking on it to show delivery). I'll stick with my Leatherman squirt for my keys (around 10 years old now).

How did you break them? If you broke Leatherman products, you WILL break this.
