This is a great tool... it has two modes, one for low torque and lower speed which is used for electrical boxes and places you need to be a bit more careful, and the other is full power mode.

This is very powerful, and I can often leave my 18v stuff home but still know it's strong enough to get the job done.

I know this is 1/4" drive, I am looking for 1/2" - I also know nothing about tools (gift shopping)
The Milwaukee 1/2 brushless on Amazon is $359- a lot more
Than I wanted to spend, anyone have any pointers? Hubby is not a brand snob but looking to use it to quick change tires occasionally for demolition derby.

Common misconception; this is for an Impact DRIVER, not an Impact WRENCH. An Impact Driver is primarily used for driving screws and such into wood (with limited uses using an adapter for nuts/bolts). An Impact Wrench is more suited for automotive work, driving large lag bolts, lugs, etc... Basically you're looking for an Impact Wrench for your hubby.

I HIGHLY recommend that you take a stroll through your nearest Home Depot and look for this kit: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi.../206736695

It was a Black Friday special at $99 which is a really good price with battery and charger included (not a bare tool like the one listed, which would require the additional purchase of a battery + charger). I was just in my local HD this Sunday and they still had at least 20+ units on display, that I could see. Seems they did not sell too well so you will probably find one.

This kit will remove lugs with ease, (if I was your husband I would be thrilled to receive this as a gift for your aforementioned needs).

Hope this helps some!!! Man, I wish my wife would buy tools for me for xmas, especially doing her own research!!!

Thank you! I just saw this after I ordered a Dewalt 20V from sears! 😕 I think I got a ok deal though, was on saw for $199 (with battery/charger/bag) then used a $20/$150 and will get back $42 in points to buy him something else 😜

After I read your reply I panicked and went back to make sure I got a impact wrench instead of a impact driver lol My husband surprised me with one hell of a anniversary gift this year so I am trying my best to be the queen of Christmas. Thank you for taking the time to reply, I tried to reach out for help a few places with no luck- trying so hard to keep it a secret from him! You are the only replier!
Thanks again, and merry Christmas 🎄

Nice, you did pretty well I'd say with the coupon & SYW points for later use. That tool will definitely serve the purpose you mentioned for hubby, and he will certainly be happy to receive it!!! Battery, charger and bag makes it a good kit from scratch.

My last recommendation is to take the $42 in points (that you stated would be to buy him something else) and buy him a nice, basic deep impact socket set from Sears (probably want to go metric / MM) to go with the impact wrench, you don't need to go with a crazy large kit for lugs and work that he'll probably use the impact for. That is, if he doesn't own a set already... Now THAT would be a really nice complete set to receive for xmas hug

Best of luck and I hope the lucky man has a happy xmas along with yourself. You did good IMHO Cool
