Amazon no longer price adjusting post-purchase?

Tried searching around for a similarly titled thread, but no luck.

Anyways, I found out that Amazon is no longer offering price adjustments for orders placed through them. Have any other SDers encountered this problem? I was basically referred to a policy update hyperlink and asked if there was anything else they could help me with.

I had ordered a Samsung Evo Select microSD card about 9 days ago and saw that it dropped in price today (via frontage). I got online via chat to ask for help in getting the price adjusted and found out this change.

In the past whenever they dropped the price, and it was within a certain period of time, they would immediately refund the difference, etc.

Here's the link to their policy change. [amazon.com]

I then called up Amazon and was told the same thing. According to the rep, they no longer have the ability to make the adjustment to the account. Is it just me, or does this seem really unusual?

BestBuy adjusted COD WWII for me without a problem when their prices dipped from $59.99 to $39.99.

The only remedy with Amazon is to basically return the item and re-order it. Which would be fine in some circumstances, but in other situations could be somewhat of a hassle.

Anyways, just something to be aware of for folks who might be counting on a post-purchase adjustment.

I had to return something recently, and reorder. That is the conclusion a amazon rep told me over the phone.

Seems like they just waste more money in return shipping and packing.... but hey, if the CEO's get the new tax bill passed, they'll still be ahead.

It's been that way for years. I haven't ordered much from Amazon over the past few years, but even when I had Prime a few years ago, I remember them saying they didn't do it.
