Newegg has Avast Pro Antivirus listed at $39.99 - $30 promo code (EMCBCRJ65) for a 2 year license for 3 PCs shipped free using the free Super Saver shipping option.

This is better than the 1 year license for 3 PCS for $9.99 posted last month. Good antivirus protection at a good price and no need to worry about mail in rebates!

Does anyone used this antivirus software? How is it? Does it slow down the PC?

Do you have to activate all three licenses at once? Can you use one for three years and then use the next one and then the next one for a total of 9 years for one PC?

I have been using Avast free for years since maybe like 2006 and I never experienced any slow down to my pc. In my opinion it is one of the best free antivirus out there.

avast free had been more aggressive with free browser installation and addon in recent years. watch out for it.

Use the free version with IOBit ASC. Not digging either company installing a trusted CA and intercepting *all* SSL and inspecting/logging all of your website visits.

I disabled/uninstalled the browser component in both the program and in your browser.

Use a VPN that doesn't log and runs non-SSL and your DNS through cloudflare. That's about as protected while using crowdsourced malware/prevention.

This morning I received a "Microsoft Warning Alert" thru Firefox browser so I knew it was a scam which led me to discover my a vast wasn't working. Avast reports I have an RPC "server is not available" error (never heard of this) so I look it up and instead of trying to work it out I simply tried uninstalling Avast. I've rebooted 4 Times but every time I try to download Avast again off the site my computer tells me I haven't rebooted yet. I did a hard drive file search for avast and see stuff like amd64.avast., x86.avast, license.avastlic... On and on. 142 files actually. I just want to select all and delete, then reboot. Lol
