How does this compare to the Avanti 2 pack from Home Depot?

Not a bad price but you can also get the combo pack from Amazon if you need a general purpose blade...

FWIW the HD Avanti blades are not manufactured by Freud, as they formerly were and built a reputation of quality on. These are the Chinese manufactured blade. I haven't personally cut with these blades, so quality may be in the eye of the beholder, but at least you'll know what you're getting. I know the Dewalts carry a 3 year warranty. Can't find any info except 90-days on the Avanti.

The Avanti blades have a 45 day guarantee from the manufacturer. I can't find anything about a warranty on or in the package.

As far as how they perform I've only had them for a few months and haven't done much work with them but they seem ok. This is from a beginner though so I don't have much to compare them to. There were some cuts where it didn't cut cleanly at the end but I think that was my fault for trying to cut too fast as it didn't happen again when I eased up on the pressure.

You can subscribe and save too on that!!! LOL

Note that Amazon at $25 off 100 for DeWalt tools. It make make it a better deal if you combine it with something else.

This or a Diablo if I just want to purchase once and not worry about it for years of light use with small boards?

Diablo blades really aren't that great. I think people just assume they are because of the cool color and high price tag

Depends on your use. This is definitely a step below Diablo, but it's fine for relatively clean cut, but you'll spend a lot of time finishing this off afterward with sandpaper, etc. if this is for finish work. Diablo are better still, but they sit in a sort useless no man's land for me (at least in a high tooth count... Their 50 tooth combo blade is the best bang for a table saw going). If you're doing woodworking, invest in a Freud Industrial blade or Forrest Woodworker II.

Very much a hobbyist. Some wall art, shoe racks, nightstands, etc. All for personal use.

I don't think this is a miter saw blade. Read the q and a on the site.
