I would recommend this shaver. Especially at $19! I have been very happy with it for several months now.

I don't have this specific rotary shaver but generally the purpose of the Oneblade is different from an ordinary shaver. The Oneblade makes it extremely easy to use an electric shaver because you can use it even for heavy growth, it doesn't pull, and it is easy to see where you are cutting. Rotary shavers only really work for people with thick facial hair if you shave daily, and they can be frustrating to use because you have to go over the same area multiple times.

But the Oneblade does not get as close as a good rotary shaver. If you use the Oneblade and you have thick facial hair, you will have a 5 o clock shadow at 11 am. I find the best method for me has been to use the Oneblade first and then finish up with the rotary shaver, especially if I haven't shaved in a couple days.

I got this the last time this deal went around after reading that folks with course facial hair said it cut as close as a blade. I haven't found that to be true. I've only tried adjusting pressure, angle, motion direction and patterns. However, over those limited use cases, compared to a razor, it takes longer, misses spots (especially on neck with no bone under the skin), and isn't as close. Maybe I need to do like the guy in the picture and use shaving cream... but then I'd just continue using a safety razor. A note about my skin is that it isn't delicate. I usually just splash any temp water on my face and will use any soap or conditioner laying around to shave with a razor. If none are available, I just use water & frequent rinses of the safety blade.
This electric razor leaves me feeling like it's the afternoon after a morning shave... only immediately after shaving.
Safety razors need to be replaced, of course, but the energy expended to build them and the waste after recycling requires a long ROI for an electrical device with batteries and also gets dull & needs replaced blades.
Conclusion: It may not be for everyone.
