It's $75 off for a new phone that just came out a couple months ago... I'd say it's a good deal.

yeah CA tax kills the deal although you can get a $20 credit if you reddit a REF code which google clearly states on the checkout page . . .

but a very nice looking phone though =)

In addition Google are adding an extra 100 to Nexus 5X (potentially others) trade in.
That's $174 for the 4X after trade in.

Wished the camera on the 4X was any good and might bite.

The camera is fine. Motorola released an update a few days ago that fixed the slowness.

Hi OP, could you share what is your moto x4 current "Android version" and "Android security patch level" from Settings > About phone? Would like to confirm if Android One version of moto x4 is really getting latest updates since launch? Kindly advise. Thank you!

It's not on Oreo yet, if that's what you are asking. Supposedly going to have our before the end of the year.

So, per the OP, "There is no minimum activation time needed to be eligible for the discount."

So we can just activate it with only one month of service and then switch it over to another carrier thereafter and still keep the discount?
