The official upgrade pick from WireCutter for Best Noise Cancelling Headset [thewirecutter.com]. Now I'm torn about whether I should return my Sonys, which I picked up on sale a few weeks ago from Amazon. I love most everything about the Sony, except touch-sensitive controls which are too easy to trigger.

Can anyone comment on these vs the V-MODA Crossfade wireless ii that I picked up from Adorama for $240?

I believe the headband is a little wider and the earcups a little deeper.

So I've bought a lot of headphones in the last couple months. Sony 1000xm2 , hifiman he400i, Bose qc25, m50x, and the HD1... When I got the hd1 I liked the sound a lot. Still do, but there's some places where it isn't exactly what I wanted. That said, it is far superior to the other headsets I mentioned except the he400i. I love the 400i's but that is a totally different class of headphones... Open back. Anyway hope this helps someone.

shill website - every review is written putting the products in a positive light so that the blog (NYT company) can make money by driving users to purchase the product. Their endorsement means absolutely nothing.

This "deal", being posted by an SD employee would make me question the legitimacy of the "deal", and if it's just a tactic to make affiliate monies.

If it's on sale on the official sennheiser site, could that signal the next model is on its way?

Dunno what your issue with Wirecutter is, but they absolutely criticize things (see, for example, their criticism of the noise-cancelling levels, the standard "flaws but not dealbreakers" section). They also have a long list of alternatives and why they decided not to include them in the shortlist. If you don't like the recommendation, don't get it! I've bought a very large number of their recommendations since before the NYT bought it - and I've been happy with literally every single one.

And if you're objecting to affiliate links, uhhhh ... do you see what website you're on? Or have you been to the web recently? That's basically how it works - subscriptions, ads, affiliate links, crypto mining in exchange for content.
