Very good deal on these. The cheapest ever I've seen was around $85.

These have 2 year WD warranty.

That is odd. I don't see it for that price under completed listings.

Not a deal.
You can buy a Seagate backup plus slim with a 2TB Samsung spinpoint in it for $60 or less quite frequently. I don't see how this 2TB @ $75 is a deal at all.

Please find me a 15mm 2TB drive that is cheaper than this. 15mm drives are more of a niche product that people who need them will specifically look for. Its different than a 7mm or 9mm or a 3.5 inch hard drive.

Your bold "15mm" made this deal even worse, when combines with a 2.5'' drive size. Many laptops only take 7mm or 9mm the most. A thick 15mm can not be used in normal, not to mention ultrabooks, which is particularly bad. If you have a 7 or 9mm HDD, you can always buy adaptors to fit in 15mm HDD chamber; but a 15mm HDD is useless if your HDD chamber only takes 7 or 9mm HDD.

i'm looking for one of these 2.5" drives to swap out a 500GB on in my tivo bolt. i originally used one of the seagates that just died on me. this isn't a bad price as staples has it for more than twice the cost:

fyi, the ebay seller charges sales tax in CA.

I often buy during BF, 4TB external USB 3 are usually under $99. Have a post BF hangover, need to return some impulse buys.

Yes, that is why I have mentioned that it is more of a niche product and people buying this specifically need a 15mm. I don't get what the issue is. If you don't need a 15mm, you are better off buying a 7mm as its cheaper as you said. And as I am genuinely curious, please find me a 15mm hard drive chamber because I couldn't find any.

This is what I used for my bolt as well.

That doesnt have Samasung drives anymore. Those have been replaced with ST2000LM007, which is SMR type.

Thanks for this info. I did not know this type of recording technology exists before. Did a little research, and it appears it's not really good for an active use desktop drive. It's only good for "Archive drive". Luckily during the past couple of years when I bought quite a few of these Seagate external HDD they all had Samsung drives inside.
