Bundle price for these is $79.99 across all providers, including iTunes. iTunes is also $14.99 for individual movies.

I think it's likely that Disney will come around, but who knows.

They were as low as $60 for the six movie bundle last year on GP. Vudu got down to $65, so these prices are just so so.

I'd buy them through iTunes for that exact reason.

As you can often buy iTunes gift cards for a 15% discount, you could save another $2 a movie too (and have the possibility of 4k later).

I'm not at all a star wars fan & wouldn't have even concidered buying the movies until last year when like you said Google Play has 6 of the movies on sale for $60.00 which was already a good price but I had a 50% any movie or movie bundle so I ended up paying a little over $30.00 for 6 of the Star Wars in HDX. I believe it was during the end of the year sale.

Look into the lore of Star Wars. George Lucas hated the original Episode 4. It was the studio version of the movie, not his. He had the original negative destroyed. When people pointed out that it was also out on VHS, his response was that sooner or later those VHS tapes would die. So how is Ep 4 still around? Laserdisc was the thorn in Lucas' plan. Laserdisc is forever. It was released on Laserdisc, the only THX version ever released I believed. So what they did was digitize a retail Laserdisc to make the DVD. That retail edition Laserdisc is the root of all the digital copies.

Rumor is that the Library of Congress has a copy of the negatives from the copyright process though. So there is hope. A new hope.
