it's pretty fascinating, i wonder how well it works.
from wiki [wikipedia.org]:
Quote :
Thermodynamic sterilization (TSS) - This technology uses heat sterilization via a ceramic core with micro capillaries, which are heated to 200 °C (392 °F). It is claimed that 99.9% of microbiological particles - bacteria, viruses, dust mite allergens, mold and fungus spores - are incinerated.[7] The air passes through the ceramic core by the natural process of air convection, and is then cooled using heat transfer plates and released. TSS is not a filtering technology, as it does not trap or remove particles.[8] TSS is claimed not to emit harmful by-products (although the byproducts of partial thermal decomposition are not addressed) and also reduces the concentration of ozone in the atmosphere.

More of an air sterilizer than purifier. If you are looking for particulate or VOC removal, it doesnt look like this would work well for you.

I wonder how much electricity does it consume to constantly keep heating element at boiling temperature. You may save by not buying filters, but you would spend triple that amount in electrical costs.

Low energy consumption: 52 W

should not consume a lot of energy.

Just go for a classic and classy furnace filter behind a box fan. I know I wake up feeling better after having assembled one of these bad boys. Two dusty dogs had me all clogged up.
